↟ Break Away Tale NR 183 // @soulfulbuslife

We are Adam & Rachel and we share our bus home with our four furkids. We have two dogs, Wyatt & Oakley and two rabbits, Piper & Sirius Black. We are from Washington State where Adam owned his own business for 8 years. After experiencing life as business owners, home owners and your typical rat racers we decided it was time for a change. We had been attracted to the tiny house movement for a few years before we finally decided to embrace it ourselves. We were tired of working simply to pay for materialistic things without having enough time to truly enjoy life. ⠀

We discovered the niche of school bus conversions amongst our tiny house research and knew this was the best fit for us. We purchased a retired school bus shortly after that and spent the following year converting it into a perfect tiny home for our family. ⠀

Adapting to this new life has been incredibly easy for us because we have gained much more than we gave up. We sold our cars, home, and the majority of our belongings. The freedom this life has given us is such an incredible gift. Rachel runs a grassroots non-profit helping to educate students and communities about the problems facing our world's oceans, as well as advocating to end cetacean captivity. Adam was able to step away from a job that was draining his heart and soul and focus on his art and spirituality work. ⠀

We hope to encourage others to realize that they don't have to stick to the 9-5 job that is making them unhappy. It might take some hard work but you can make your life anything that you want. You might have to give up some of your traditional comforts and let go of your attachment to "stuff" but in the end you will gain so much more. ⠀
